RoastMyPic is built to be privacy-first. Here's exactly what happens with your data — no legalese, just facts.

Photos You Upload

• Your photo is converted to base64 in memory on our server.
• It is sent to the Anthropic (Claude) Vision API for analysis.
• After the roast is generated, the photo is immediately discarded from memory.
• We do not store your photos — not on our servers, not in any database, not in any file storage, not anywhere.
• Anthropic may retain the image temporarily under their own Privacy Policy.

Roast Text & Share Links

• Roast text and share IDs are generated on-the-fly and returned to your browser.
• They are not stored on our servers. Once the response is sent, the server forgets it.
• Share links are currently placeholders — there is no database behind them yet.

Payment Information

• Payments are handled entirely by Stripe.
• We never see or store your card number, CVV, or billing details.
• Stripe processes your payment under their own Privacy Policy.

What We Store Locally (Your Browser)

• A random anonymous ID (UUID) — not linked to your identity.
• Whether you've purchased a roast pack (true/false).
• How many roasts you have remaining (a number).

This data lives in your browser's localStorage only. We cannot access it from our servers. You can clear it anytime by clearing your browser data.

Analytics & Tracking

• We collect no personal tracking data.
• No Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting.
• No cookies are set beyond minimal technical needs.
• Vercel (our hosting provider) collects basic anonymous traffic metrics under their Privacy Policy.

Data Storage

RoastMyPic operates without a database — there are no user accounts, no stored roasts, and no persistent data on our servers. Everything is processed in real time and discarded. If we introduce features like saved roasts or share history in the future, we'll update this policy to reflect exactly what is stored and how.

Third-Party Services

• Anthropic — AI image analysis and roast generation (Privacy Policy)

• Vercel — Hosting and deployment (Privacy Policy)

Children

RoastMyPic is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we add a database, user accounts, or change how data is handled, we will update this page. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision.
